Specialized Residential Services
The Specialized Residential Services program is part of the continuum of services available to individuals in Tehama County.
The Specialized Residential Services program offers permanent placement for individuals with disabilities. The program also has a Community Crisis Home that offers specialized services for individuals with disabilities who are in crisis.
All of the residential homes are designed around the needs and functions of the individuals who live there. We are a client choice-based program that focuses on what is important to and important for our individuals. While in the home, clients are offered 24-hour support from trained Staff.
Staff are trained in assisting with administering medication; providing transportation to all appointments and recreational activities of the client’s choice; providing a list of daily activities including vocational opportunities and leisure activities within our community. Leisure activities our clients have participated in include bowling, swimming at Whiskeytown Lake, hiking at Lassen Park, going to the Movies, the Red Bluff Round Up, and the Tehama County Fair. All Staff trainings emphasize building meaningful relationships with clients to support them in reaching their individualized hope, dreams, goals, and desires.

What You Will Receive as a NVS Resident
North Valley Services’ priority is to provide safety and well-being to our individuals. To accomplish this, North Valley Services’ staff receive continuous training in psychiatric issues, medical issues, behavioral intervention and medication management to best understand and serve our residents.
Transportation
North Valley Services provides transportation to and from all medical appointments, community participation outings, leisure activities, and day programs or work.
Community Integration
North Valley Services heavily promotes opportunities for our clients to participate and integrate in community events and leisure activities like: restaurants, casinos, movies, farmer's markets, Shasta lake etc.
Individual Needs
North Valley Services provides its Residents with counseling, behavior management, psychiatric services through a licensed BCBA Behaviorist, as well as Tele-Med through Connecting to Care.
Personal Care
North Valley Services provides personal care assistance with showering, incontinent care, dressing, grooming, medication management, and overall monitoring of general health and safety.
Tools for Independency
North Valley Services provides tools for independent living for all. Some tools provided include: healthy meal preparation, nutrition management, laundry, housekeeping, and money management.
*All services are individualized based upon IPP, ISP and the specific needs of the individual served.
